We are also able to provide master planning layouts through to working drawings for both residential and commercial schemes.

Once a brief has been established we will prepare a sketch design that will bring your ideas to life. We can offer simple plan and elevation drawings through to 3D visualisations.

Sustainability

Increasing awareness of energy consumption and the need to reduce our carbon footprint has brought new concepts to construction technology.

Banks Brown aim to incorporate elements of sustainability into every design, through attention to detail. Each project is individually assessed to maximise the value of the inclusion of high levels of insulation, capitalisation of solar gain and the specification of high thermal mass materials, rainwater recycling and solar panels without adding needlessly to the overall cost. We work in close liaison with an energy consultant (Ark Specialist Services Ltd) to provide fully compliant and workable solutions.

Planning Applications

Banks Brown can offer a comprehensive service, from carrying out pre-application consultations to preparing and submitting all the necessary drawings and documentation.

We have extensive knowledge of the planning process from small domestic extensions to large scale residential and commercial developments.

Building Regulations

Banks Brown will take your scheme from the conceptual planning stage to the next level, preparing detailed drawings to indicate how the building is to be constructed and incorporating solutions to meet the requirements for Building Control.

We can fully detail your design, submit the Building Regulation application and liaise with the Local Authority to gain an approval for your scheme.

With stricter thermal performance being demanded, we can offer advice for improving the thermal efficiency of your scheme through the specification of alternative products.

Tender Process

To give you the best chance of obtaining like for like quotes from builders we can prepare a specification and schedule of works that covers all aspects of the project, from building materials to internal finishes.

A Tender package will then be compiled and issued to an agreed number of builders, from which we can then compare prices and advice on the best quote.

Contract Administration

To help your project run as smoothly as possible during the construction process, we can administer the running of the contract between you and the builder. This can include for regular site visits, issue of bespoke details, issuing of valuation certificates and acting as liaison between you and the builder.
